Sound designers Dean Kontos, David Jalbert, and Steve Dobias crafted everything from punchy weaponry and detailed foley to the distinct sounds of creatures and alien environments. Their work ensures an unparalleled level of audio impact throughout the retro-futuristic Arcadia system.
Engineered for Dynamic Immersion
To bring a highly responsive and optimized audio experience to life, our expert team developed complex sound systems with a lean profile using the industry-standard middleware Wwise. Working directly in Unreal Engine 5 allowed us to go further, integrating sounds directly via Blueprints and tagging of cinematics and animations. This efficient technical workflow, created in close collaboration with Obsidian’s programming team, allowed us to help manage the game’s vast soundscape with precision.
Furthermore, to master over 45,000 lines of dialogue on a condensed timeline, Clean Cuts developed an in-house proprietary mastering solution utilizing custom Reaper scripts to eliminate the need for batch processing. This innovation guaranteed both speed and consistent quality across a colossal project.
